Felony
criminal charges are crimes which are of a more serious
nature than that of a misdemeanor crime. Accordingly, the fines,
penalties, and impact that a felony conviction have upon
your life are significantly greater than that of a misdemeanor
conviction.
It is important to note that individuals who are
convicted of a felony crime, in addition to the fines and
penalties which may be awarded, they may also be subjected to
hardships such as being
prohibited from employment in
occupations involving the handling of money or valuables.
A felony conviction may also be a significant stumbling block if you later decide to pursue
a professional discipline field of employment, such as medicine, nursing, teaching, real
estate, financial services, or practicing law.
If
you are already licensed in a particular discipline profession, a
felony
conviction could result in a review of your "character and
fitness", jeopardizing your ability to continue to work in that
field.
